Partials by Dan Wells

WARNING: SPOILER BELOW.

What can I say? I LOVE IT! I bought the book without even checking if it’s worth my money and time. I started reading the first few chapters last Monday and got so hooked, I didn’t even sleep.

Before I read it, I promised myself not to finished it in one go but obviously, I failed at that. I finished it in just hours. Ten chapters a day is not for me, especially when it’s very engaging and interesting. I gave Partials a 5/5 rating on Goodreads simply because I love the whole story, the characters, even the front page of the book.

I recommend it for those who loves to read Dystopia genre. I’m sure you’ll love this book as well. The second book which is Fragments is due to release next year. I know! That is sooooo long! (spoiler: I like Marcus, really, but I’m guessing there will be a Kira-Samm moment somewhere in Fragments. They have a connection, those two, we can’t deny it. So… yes, I can’t wait for that too if there is.)

I will not be surprised if people in the movie industry will decide one day to buy the rights of the book to make a movie.

Bookworm Haven

Ahhh.. this room looks heaven to me.

It’s like a shabby chic room with lots of books on the walls and a good window for sunlight to pass to. I LOVE IT! I wish my room is like this. Though the books, well, I’m still in the process of collecting all my favorite books. So far, out of 104 books that I’ve already read, I only have 12 or 13 books here. I promised myself to buy atleast two books a month. I hope I can follow that. =)

I Won!

So I won in an online contest days ago and I got these.

I wasn’t actually expecting to win. I just usually join a contest, follow the instructions and let the odds be in my favor. And for this particular contest, it was. It’s my second time winning something through online. I wish to win more though. Like that new Samsung Galaxy Tab or an iPhone 4s giveaway that is due this 31st of May. =D Ha ha.

My Take On Insurgent

I promised I’d write a short amateur “review”/opinion about the second book of the trilogy Divergent. First of all, I loved the first book. Based on my imagination and my understanding of Divergent, it’s quite bloody and violent at the same time. Well, that all is based on the Dauntless faction for being what they are. Now, we come to the second book, Insurgent. I loved it as well. Except for some facts that I find quite disturbing in my own way. Oh well. Spoilers ahead.

1. The beating of Marcus. I understand where all the anger of Tobias is coming from. If I’m in his shoes, I’d feel the same way as he feels towards his own father. (I can say that I have my own fair share regarding the father issue, but mine is way different, so in a way, I can understand) But the beating? In front of other people just to prove he’s the leadership type, fearless, not weak, is something I don’t quite comprehend. Of course, it’s part of the Dauntless attitude and to make up for the embarrassing scenario that happened earlier in the book. I guess, I’m just sensitive when it comes to that kind of matter.

2. I can’t help but be annoyed sometimes at Tris. But I have to give credit for her character’s development. It was well thought. Still, she’s annoying.

3. I LOVE the suspense. I mean, the fact that the characters are in danger and in my mind I kept thinking that someone will save him/her, but no one comes. It’s realistic.

4. MASSIVE CLIFFHANGER. Oh god, I can’t wait for the next book!

5. I didn’t expect that one of the characters, or shall I say, one of my favourite characters was a traitor!! – well, I don’t know what to think about him after reading the book. There are a lot of questions that needs to be answered.

6. Warning. Lots of kissing scenes and heavy kissing. LOL. I have nothing against it, but sometimes too many is just so cheesy.

I guess that’s it. I can’t think clearly. My sister is currently watching a movie here with me in the room and I can’t concentrate.

Something From Cafepress. Soon.

This is just a short post.

I ordered something from Cafepress. I’m really excited for it. I’m not going to share it yet here, I might jinxed it. Our local post office is something that I doubt when it comes to international packages. I just hope it will arrive here untouched, no dents or whatever. =)

New Stuff Soon!

I’ll be revamping this whole blog. I mean, not the theme (because obviously, I still can’t find a decent one), but the sidebar stuff.

Right. This is a super short post. Oh btw, I’m done reading Insurgent!! I might post my own amateur review here soon. I’m just taking care of a few extra things here.

No One Ugly Allowed

It’s MAY! That means two important occasion: My sister’s birthday and mine. Years ago, I always anticipate my birth month, not for the gifts (are there any anyway?) or anything. But because I get to celebrate it with my family and if possible, with my close friends. Simple and happy. Now that I’m about to age in a matter of weeks, I’m starting to dread that special day. I can’t help but get emotional every time I think about it.

Anyway, I can’t believe I’m still stuck at reading Angels & Demons. So not me! I started reading the book on April 13. Maybe because I decided to read the Hunger Games trilogy in between. I’m still in my Hunger Games Syndrome, believe it or not.

To end this post, I’d like to share this hilarious Hunger Games parody of Ceasar Flickerman by Hillywood. Can I just say that these girls are soooooooo amazing?! They did a Harry Potter, Twilight and TVD parodies too!

The Hunger Games Once Again

WOW! It’s been ages!! I know, I know. Forgive me! I’ve been busy once again. But! I’m not gonna lie the real reason of why I haven’t blogged here for a long time. It’s because of The Hunger Games… AGAIN. I decided to read it for the 3rd time. Ahhh.. Peeta. I can’t help but fall in love with him all over again! I’ll probably read them again next year before the second movie comes out.

Speaking of which, the movie Catching Fire is due to release on November 23, 2013! That’s 1 year and 7 freaking months! Argh! That long. =( Oh well. It’s a good thing they released the movie after the Harry Potter saga. I have something to look forward to every year once again. =)
